‘Home Screen Customization’, the mobile life of Gen Z leading the global trend

Born between the mid-1990s and early 2000s, Gen Z grew up in a digital environment from childhood. They are a generation that is sensitive to new technologies and changes, and actively acts for their own happiness and tastes.

For this reason, Gen Z enjoys expressing their individuality through smartphones and other personal items, but there have been restrictions on home screen customization for iOS smartphone users. However, as Apple officially released the latest OS 'iOS14' that supports the home screen widget function, 'home screen customization' has become a trend among GenZ around the world.

The iOS-only app 'Photo Widget: Simple' received a hot response by providing a simple and intuitive photo album function tailored to the needs of GenZ. About 70% of all users are Gen Z, and overseas users account for 92%, leading the global trend of ‘home screen customization’ of Gen Z.

Within three days of its release, Photo Widget was listed in the Top 10 App Store rankings in 150 countries around the world, including Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Thailand, as well as the United States. Supported languages include Korean, English, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and Arabic, etc., providing 19 languages, strengthening its position as a global service.

A photo widget official said, "We are providing a countdown widget, horoscope widget, and calendar widget that can decorate the home screen with a focus on the photo album, and we plan to release various functions in the future."
